PostSubject: Wilowchehuckt, the Wookiee Jedi   Tue Jan 05, 2016 9:38 pm

Basics

Name: Wilowchehuckt
Alignment: Good
Jedi, Sith, or NFS: Jedi
Profession: Jedi Seer (Scholar)
Desired Rank: Grandmaster
Species: Wookiee
Height: 2.2 meters
Weight: 112 kg
Age: Old
Eyes: Light Green
Hair: Yes.

Defining Characteristics:

Wilowchehuckt is likely one of the most easygoing Jedi in the order, even with his current position as Grandmaster. He spends nearly as much time studying as he did before being given the position, which he gracefully "neglects" unless his word is absolutely needed. The Wookiee treats nearly every similar situation as such, carefully choosing when to act even in lethal combat scenarios.

The Wookiee's connection to the force is substantial when it comes to feeling into the extensive reaches of the Force itself. He often experiences visions, major and minor in scale, of things past, present, and future. How often he acts upon them is anyone's guess, as few would question his knowledge and understanding of the will of the Force - of which he admits is little, even with his years of meditation.

Description:

Wilowchehuckt is a black and white hued Wookiee with a tuxedo pattern, except for his forearms being black furred and the area around his elbows being white. Occasionally he dons garb that includes a kilt, gloves, and hood; but usually he is only found wearing a belt when his Wroshyr wood covered lightsaber is best at his side. Tenets "compassion" and "honor" are carved in Aurebesh on opposite sides, written down the hilt vertically. For his kind, he is of the towering sort. Little else is distinguishable of the Wookiee, unless one can sense his reputation within the Force...

Bio:

Wilowchehuckt was born the archipelago of the Wartaki Islands, where most Wookiees speak Xaczik. As such, he grew up being fluent in both Shyriiwook and Xaczik. His childhood was relatively normal except for his demonstration of talent in nearly everything physical or mental, even by his race's standards. However, he was never suspected of being that connected to the Force until after his Hrrtayyk ceremony.

Accompanied by his father, Wilowchehuckt ventured into the Shadowlands, the dark and dangerous forest floor of Kashyyyk, to hunt a Katarn. He was encouraged to take no weapons with him and instead use the forest around him to defeat it. It did not take long for one to find the Wookiee, but Wilowchehuckt took it head on and managed to do something no bantha rider could do - ride the Katarn. Unfortunately, he had no plan what to do after he did that, so he proceeded to punch it in the skull until it fell over. His father stood there, prouder than proud, but it turned out Wilo had only knocked out the Katarn - it leapt at his father, and time seemed to slow for Wilo as he stood too far to react... wishing, just wishing that something would save his father... and a root edged up just enough to trip the Katarn and have it kill itself by instead pouncing a rock and cracking its skull. Wilo had never felt more alive, and his father had never been so dumbfounded when he noticed his son holding his arms out in the direction of the Katarn and looking more exhausted than ever. Wilo fainted shortly thereafter.

In spite of being teased for fainting after completing his Hrrtayyk ceremony, or not even being considered to have completed it due to the "wild" series of events, his father, following his gut, decided to contact the Jedi to see if Wilo had really done something that spectacular. It would not be long until the Wartaki Isles themselves essentially gaped in unison and soon felt prouder than ever.

As a Wookiee, Wilowchehuckt had some hurdles to go through as a youngling, especially one of his age. Communication was very difficult except with some teachers, as not every Jedi is fluent in Shyriiwook. Wilowchehuckt spent some time learning how to construct a droid, which he deemed E3B, that could translate for him, and had it floating nearby at all times within his first month at the Jedi Temple.

In between teachings, Wilo often spent a lot of time on his own learning and meditating, trying to make up for "lost time" starting at his age. He would soon shoot ahead of his classmates simply because he almost never spent time playing around - learning what was he loved to do, and he wanted to make his people proud and bring them honor.

Something that baffled certain members of the order and proved to be ironic is that when it came to lightsaber training, Wilowchehuckt would rarely take advantage of his strength in spars - he often preferred to use the Force to pull out the feet from under his fellow trainees feet, or attempt to position himself so that the attacker had the disadvantage. He was not nearly as aggressive as one would think of his race.

When Wilowchehuckt was taken to Ilum for his lightsaber crystal, he soon discovered he had a connection with a more uniquely colored blue crystal, which would give him a cyan-colored lightsaber blade.

There was one point in which, before exceptional trainees, including Wilo, would be considered for a Master, that a Knight would lead a few trainees in an investigation typical of a Jedi Knight's duties. It turned out to be a tomb that was strong in the dark side of the Force, which almost proved to be too much for the group and left the Knight incapacitated. Taking charge, Wilowchehuckt lead the group to the sarcophagus of the tomb, where they encountered a dark spirit. The Wookiee was encouraged by the spirit to embrace the power of the dark side he was offering and to use his emotions. Risking his life for his peers, Wilowchehuckt embraced the source of the spirit's power and instead of letting the darkness empower and overtake him, he instead decided to convert it to the light, using all of his willpower and energy, successfully banishing the spirit to the Netherworld of the Force and nearly killing himself in the process.

This action would catch the attention of a Kushiban Jedi Master, who seemed eager to take the Wookiee as his apprentice. It would be considered an ironic and uncharacteristic choice for Wilo to take up the teachings of a Jedi Consular, as many would still assume that Wilowchehuckt might take advantage of his strength and place himself into the Jedi Guardian teachings.

His Master passed on the knowledge of healing with the Force and put him on the path of learning the power of altering the environment, which Wilo had a knack for as proven by his species, interests, and proof of Force sensitivity. It was around this time that Wilowchehuckt began to truly master his ability to listen and speak with the Force, surprising some younglings by using telepathy to communicate with them in a language they understood.

Wilowchehuckt would eventually become known as one of the most gentle, wise, and productive Jedi Knights of the order, often going out to bring new younglings to the Jedi Temple and teaching classes to all groups, including his peers. Due to his time spent in the Libaries, he was once offered a position as a Librarian, which he gladly accepted but eventually resigned from, preferring to learn by experience and teaching others rather than sitting at a terminal. Said more kindly, of course.

The Wookiee had gone through training at least two padawans before he was granted Master status, including a Kel-Dor and Mon Calamarian, one of which never finished their training for undisclosed reasons. Wilowchehuckt earned his Master status primarily through his merits, but has always been willing to take on a new Padawan in addition to the classes he teaches.

In the recent present, Wilowchehuckt was granted the position of Grandmaster of the Order due to his aptitude and seniority. Henceforth, he has been considered negligent of the position, despite keeping up with the same duties he had carried out before being given the position.

Even after centuries of living, he claims to know little.

Benchmarks:

Fighting Style: While perfectly capable of being the slow moving juggernaut of a Wookiee obliterating anything in its path, Wilo employs a more graceful, effortless application of Soresu for defensive manuevering, switching to Ataru movements when offensive or repositioning opportunities arise. He is especially wary of his foes tendency to surround that freaking Wookiee on the battlefield. Instead of relying completely on his lightsaber in combat, he prefers to apply his extensive knowledge of the Force to debilitate or hinder his opponents whilst simultaneously putting his allies in a more advantageous position. If caught in a one-on-one battle and given good opportunity to apply the Force, he is almost certain to overwhelm a lone opponent. He is skilled in the Wookiee martial art Wrruushi, preferring to use non-lethal disabling techniques on his enemies. The Wookiee also upholds some training in the use of traditional Wookiee weapons like Bowcasters and Ryyk Blades. Wilo also has a reputation as a fighter pilot.

Agility: In addition to growing up leaping amongst the Wryoshyr trees of Kashyyyk, Wilowchehuckt has proven over his lifetime to be very light on his feet, often taking advantage of higher ground or peforming acrobatic manuevers that more presumptuous folk would consider impossible for someone of his size. Those muscles let him leap pretty far even without the Force.

Strength: As a Wookiee, he is often considered to have the advantage in this aspect. When it comes to the aggressive, hard hitting styles of lightsaber combat, however, he has not put his focus on them nearly as much as he's put it on the more defensive or Force intensive styles.

Endurance: Wilowchehuckt keeps himself in good shape. Unless he's out visiting another world, one can usually find him spending a couple hours every day performing acrobatic manuevers throughout the hanger bay, testing the limits of his physique and his ability to maintain the use of his Force powers.
